Love That Knows No End

1 John 4:19 “We love because he first loved us.”

Without experiencing or knowing the Love of Christ, we cannot be people who love. Sure we may have a desire to give people clothes or bring canned goods to a food drive, but ultimately these expressions of love only scratch the surface of peoples deepest need. There is an underlying issue that keeps us from fully understanding the depth of Christ love and consequently hindering us from the fullness of God.  The underlying issue is sin…

It is sin that separates us from God, not any earthly circumstance like poverty or disease. We tend to get so caught up in these circumstances that we cannot see beyond them to what is at the core. We can invest our time in overcoming these momentary trials but without the eternal issue (sin) being taken care of we will only provide a momentary comfort.

On our own, we are sinfully, lost people with no hope of saving ourselves. Ephesians 2 talks about how we are not only dead in our sin, but we are pursing sin. Sinful people cannot save sinful people and as long as there is sin in our lives, we will never be able to bring about a love that saves sinners. On our own, we can do nothing of eternal value. The love this world needs to experience is far greater than us…

We need a Savior!

A Savior who heals us of our deepest hurt

A Savior who provides for our most desperate needs

A Savior who can conquer sin and save sinners

A Savior who brings love, forgiveness, and eternal life

Here is the beauty of Jesus Christ.

It goes on to say in Ephesians 2:4, “but because of His great love for us, God who is rich in mercy”.

God’s love through His sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, propels Him to show us mercy, redeeming us of our sin. God sent us a Savior, Jesus Christ, in the greatest display of love we will ever know and He empowered us as ambassadors of His love. 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us”.  Jesus rescued us from our sinful ways and He changed us. He empowers us to love, because of His love for us.
